Wave propagation and focusing of soft X-rays by spherical bent microchannel plates

Synchrotron radiation sources have been used to study the focusing properties and angular distribution of X-ray at exit spherically bent microchannel plates (MCPs). In this contribution it is shown how soft energies up 1.5 keV can be focused by MCPs with curvature radii R 30 mm 50 mm. For these devices, a focus spot detectable distance between detector MCP less than /2, maximum efficiency 23% flux illuminating MCP. The collected microchannels are analyzed in framework wave approximation. A theoretical model for propagation through has successfully introduced explain experimental results. Experimental data simulations propagating represent clear confirmation channeling phenomenon MCPs.
